One of the main messages of our project is that it’s not necessary to leave home to find fascinating wildlife stories. Many people take the wild places close to home for granted, and feel that to find exciting stories it’s necessary to travel to distant places. Such long distance travel is very resource intensive, including highly dependent on fossil fuels. Because part of our story is about the conflict between energy development and wildlife, it’s important to us that we are telling a story that happens right in our home state. Working on this project does not require us to expend extensive resources or produce the associated carbon emissions for international travel. Pronghorn Passage is about caring for the lands and wildlife that are in all of our backyards.
